WHY KAMALA HARRIS CAN’T TRANSMUTATE INTO A DEBATER AFTER RUNNING AWAY FROM HARD CONVERSATIONS AND HAVE TO CARRY A HEAVY BAGGAGE
Yesterday, 16th of October 2024, Kamala Harris, the Democrat Party candidate for POTUS, had a terrible interview with the kindest reporter from Fox News, Bret Baier.
The questions were soft and kind, but as the position coveted by Harris is the most powerful office in the world, it was necessary to have answers from the candidate.
Kamala Harris flunked hard.
The reasons for her inability to debate seems to be lack of practice. Harris is an intelligent former District Attorney in an important City and General Attorney of California. She is knowledgeable and cultivated. Her father is a PhD in economics and her mother a PhD in biology, both very successful in their fields.
Harris is well versed in Socialist literature, citing Karl Marx in “The Communist Manifesto”, when she paraphrases Marx: “Unburdened by what has been”. She also read Alinsky and is aligned with quicker revolution, rather than Fabian evolution. She is knowledgeable of the ideas of redistribution of wealth, payment for slavery reparations and the evils of capitalism. Another theme Harris is well versed onto is DEI hires. She herself – by the ipsis verbis Joe Biden declaration – is a DEI hire. Biden needed a non white, non male vice-presidential candidate for the ticket, even is it was one that called him racist a few months prior.
She is also a Kamaleon – pun intended – having the ability to mingle with the people in every setting, even changing her accent to please the audience. Some people shun this, but it seems that the general public love it, for it creates a bond with them. She managed, though to offend a certain group by creating a image of Asian-Hindu-American throughout her career until now, only to switch to African-American to pander for the race card audience.
Harris has a strong base on the left agenda. Her ideas may be repugnant for conservatives, but these ideas are cherished in the minds of leftists. The idea of pardoning student debt is loved by those who are in debt and have no self-esteem to pay for their own choices.
HIDE THE CANDIDATE STRATEGY
The sin of the campaign is to believe the media machine can fix everything, all the time. This is true if one has a good background material, but if the political substance is lacking, it is hard.
Moreover, she was anointed – not voted, but chosen by Pelosi and Obama – for presidency not for her ability, but because she held possession of more than one billion dollars in donations, which were tied to Biden-Harris campaign and could not be transferred to any other candidate without risking making the donation void and bankrupting the Democrat party, for the funds would have to be returned to the donor, who would have to expressly confirm the willingness to accept the change. This means millions of donors would have to be formally contacted and redo all the paperwork. Unless, the Federal Electoral Commission look the other way, prevaricating in favor of the Democrat party.
Joe Biden is a shrewd politician, with a record of 50 years plus in Washington and with an organic base in Delaware. When Covid-19 demanded the lockdown, he took the opportunity to hide in the basement and ride on the media blitz against Trump.
The media blitz against Trump, combined with the fear and anger against the lockdown and tyrannical control Antony Fauci imposed upon the population and 30 million mail in votes, elected Biden.
This is not the case with Kamala Harris, that does not have a pandemy do hide behind, has no organic base even in California and lacks in ability to survive in Washington, for she is a one term senator and have placed herself in the most radical leftist corner of the Democrat party.
PROXIMAL CHALLANGE
Harris have not taken the road to master her debating ability. She was a prosecutor in Los Angeles, but this stint was short and was under the protection of her boyfriend at the time, a former mayor of Los Angeles. There she used the law against the felons and had success jailing drug dealers, users of drugs and other criminals.
When arriving to the presidency, Harris have denied to have press conferences – none until today, since she was anointed as candidate – and have denied until last week to have interviews. Until yesterday, on Fox News, she have refused to do interviews on real time. She preferred to have her ideas published in rallies and in declarations to public.
This changed and she started to do interviews, beginning with CBS. The interview was done with Bill Whitaker, who have thrown softballs after softballs to her, just to be caught with two versions of answers for the same taped questions. This happened because an interview teaser video was aired on Sunday with her usual response and on Monday the same video with the question had a different answer, clearly a edition of the answer.
The problem is not Kamala Harris. It is her unwillingness to prepare herself to engage with adversarial debaters. The more you talk to people, the more you learn how to organize your thoughts and how to create new answers to tough questions.
Haris have an history of not welcoming any criticism and having a mercurial temperament. 90% of her personnel has been changed. This contrasts with Joe Biden turnover which is almost null. He kept almost all the crew. Harris has been little exposed to contrarian though and this created a reflex reaction of anger, instead of taking advantage of the questions and explain what she really means.
Other candidates have exposed themselves to the press and learned – some never learn – how to deal with questions and even how to turn tables and have the obnoxious questioner in the corner. The more one debates, the better they control their emotions and have opportunity to create better answers. This is what proximal challenge is about.
One can only imagine if mail in votes place her in the presidency, how she is going to negotiate with Xi Jin Ping or Macron or Putin or even with Nicholas Maduro. She does not demonstrated any ability to deal with hardened people.
HEAVY BAGGAGE OR BURDENED BY WHAT IT IS
Kamala Harris the prosecutor jailed a lot of marijuana users and Joe Biden wanted to throw anyone with crack cocaine in jail. This baggage burdens them when now Harris wants to legalize marijuana and Biden wants people to be solidary to his crack cocaine addict son, Hunter.
For the loss of Kamala Harris, the Biden-Harris administration has a terrible record, a heavy baggage to carry during election time. The baggage seems to find the owner in most inappropriate times.
Kamala Harris advertises that the economy is doing great. But at the same time that the stock exchange is going up, inflation is hurting the population at large. Whenever Harris say that the economy is great because of the stock exchange, she is actually showing a government that forced a 0,5% drop in interest rate favoring the big corporations whose stock have risen after the government reduced the interest rate.
This cut in interest rates of 0.5% in the month ahead of election is borderline criminal and shows a FED that is serving the Democrat party and not the country. This cut pushed the stock exchange, but have made inflation even higher.
The official inflation during the Biden-Harris period is 19%. The inflation during Trump, including Covid-19, was 6%. This is the official inflation, but most people look at a higher inflation rate. Some foodstuff have 57% inflation. Mechanic repairs 47%. The worst has been fuel, which had a whopping inflation of 90% and shows in the display every time one goes to the gas station.
Another disaster is the 7 trillion dollars Green New Deal initiative, where the government will drive the economy towards sustainable processes for production, transportation and housing. This implies in huge subsidies for industries labeled green. The two disasters are the Chinese control in the manufacturing of these green products, like EVs and Solar panels and the lack of actual technical solutions to implement the measures. California does not have enough electricity to power their electric cars during summer and Texas had green energy shortages because there was no wind on clouds gathered over the solar panels.
Never the less, 7,5 billion dollars were allocated for building 7 charging stations in two years. The money has been availabe, but the stations are lacking.
This is her track record, because some genius in her campaign has decided that it was a good idea to tell the world that she was an active vice-president and in the room at all decision making and as president of the senate, the decision maker of many laws, like the Anti-Inflation act, the trillions of dollars in cash for pandemic aid. All these decisions by Harris fueled the inflation, which demanded higher interest rates, that increased the cost of mortgages and froze the real state market, because nobody will re-finance a house just to quadruple the interest rate.
The friendly media and her campaign wants to present Kamala Harris as a new face, but it has been very challenging to make people forget she is in office for 3 and 1/2 years. She wants to start solving the problems of the United States on day one, but wants everyone to forget her “day one” as more than 1400 days ago.
Harris is burdened by her record and this will cost dearly on the election day, unless 30 million votes arrive by mail.
