MUSTER COURAGE TO CONFRONT CRIME WHEREVER IT IS

The scandal is not the existence of grooming gangs. The scandal is the unwillingness to confront crimes when they are right there in front of everyone to see.

There were plenty of cases of grooming gangs. Some were prosecuted and even convicted. There were news about some blokes sharing a scheme to sex enslave children and other vulnerable groups. These men contribute to the pool and enjoy easy sex. A Freudian approach to this behavior would hint of repressed sexuality in the XXIst century.

Sex preying on vulnerables is universal due to the very nature of the vulnerable having only their body to offer in exchange for food and shelter or money. This is of difficult classification, but short of outright kidnapping the vulnerable are enticed into the trap by offer of some benefits. The sexual abuse of minors and vulnerables are still a crime, but this enticement trick make it a crime only after the sexual abuse.

A civilized society will create barriers for this exploitation. The first legal code in writing, the Hammurabi Code, already place limits to protect those enslaved. The slave owner could not do freely with “their possessions”. This is not privilege of the modern Western society. It is very much universal. There were rights for the beggars in the Tibetan mountains. These beggars had nothing, but there were regulations to protect them.

THE SCANDAL IS ABOUT COVERING UP MORE THAN THE CRIMES ITSELF.

This is the time to put the victims as the priority. We must serve justice.

Why there were known gangs not prosecuted and why there some victims were returned to the very place they run away from?

There must be transparency.

COMPROMISES ALL OVER

The current wave of disgust with the grooming gangs is important because the prime minister, Sir Keir Starmer, was the main drive for prosecution of the grooming gangs and as director of Public Prosecution from 2008 to 2013 and his record on this job is now, in hindsight, being considered below commendation.

The period Starmer was at the direction of Public Prosecution office had a public relations complication due to the London Olympic Summer games of 2012. This was compounded with the street riots of 2010, which jeopardized the inflow of tourists for the London Olympics.

The path chosen was, as usual for the Labor party, to appease protestors and transform it into a more of a political dispute – the Labor party was in the opposition – not the actual looting of television sets and stereos and the destruction of private property. Very few people were criminally prosecuted and those who were had plenty of pro bono lawyers to help them avoid punishment for their crimes of theft and destruction of private and public property.

The bias is clear. The Labor party commemorated the riots as demonstration of the failure of Capitalism and a criticism of the Conservative party policies.

The conservative party was complicit. While this stance of the government reduced the potential uproar against the prosecution office, it was the slippery slope of not prosecuting when there was risk of violent demonstrations with looting and bad publicity all around.

The United Kingdom was the biggest – perhaps greatest – empire on earth at a time. This charges a heavy toll on the current metropole island that is the focus of desire of those born in the former colonies. The English speakers look for a better future for them and for their families and have their own groups moved into the UK. The metropole exploited the colonies and imposed their culture on the colonies and later the people from the colonies are going to the metropolis to enjoy the culture they learned from the metropole.

As many expatriates are victims of prejudice, there is always risk that a ethnic biased abuse of authority in one community will trigger riots. The blunders of multiple governments from Labor and from the Conservative parties have left the whole population in want of better days. Leaving the European Union has left a gap in the economy that takes time to mend and the UK is still entangled in some of the departing compromises. The people are dissatisfied and feel short changed. This makes ritos easier to flare up.

Pay attention that are very few riots emerging from the Chinese community, which is significant. There are few riots from India. Not all communities resort to violent protests.

The desire of ethnical groups to keep their whole identity and culture while living in the UK carry a price. The jurisdiction is sovereign and there is no room for importing unlawful traditions like the arranged marriages, honor killings and genital mutilations. These, we can all agree, are abhorrent. These practices are crimes everywhere in Europe and in the Americas and when it happens the jurisdiction law must be enforced. These crimes are even more important because they reek of misogyny.

EASTERN PEOPLE = NON WESTERN????

The view of the non Western must be clarified. To equal Asians as non Westerns is a misnomer and an injustice.

Classifying all people as Asian as done in the Home Office publication on Child Sex Exploitation is ingenuous but in reality prove the opposite of what they wanted to prove. There are very few Chinese men or Japanese men or Korean-men arrested for CSE crimes or grooming gangs, even if it is a gang of two individuals. Those arrested are from other groups not far-east-Asians. The smear is clearly distributed over the largest continent in order to dilute the guilt. The Home Office report also classify a “gang” as two or more people is an ingenuous definition in order to reduce the importance of evidence of many men consorting to create a gang, making a small partnership of two a gang. Traditionally, police call gangs groups of 3 or more people, gathered to commit crimes.

One important crime recently on the news is of a married couple that abused their adopted son. As per the Home Office statistics, this would be a grooming gang, not a couple of manipulative sick sexual abusers.

One must not put ethnicity in crime. It is the individual that commits these crimes. If there are plenty of people from some ethnicity coordinating a crime, that is a gang, not people from an ethnicity.

There is one big gang committing crimes of omission and that is the government that has known these crimes during the whole tenure of the several previous offices but still choses to prevaricate and allow these hundreds, perhaps thousands of children to be victimized by abusers, in the name of not rocking the boat.

The previous governments from the Conservative party were expelled for their incompetency by the voters and it is time to Sir Keir Starmer to unleash the Attorneys in the jurisdictions to go after those who abused the children as well as those in position of authority that have prevaricated. Keir Starmer must stop persecuting the whistleblowers and get on to the prosecution of the criminals, whichever their ethnicity is. The current authorities must not keep on protecting the previous administration for their prevarication. The truth must be disclosed in public.

The Conservative party failed the victims and the Labor party is now in control and is also failing the victims.

WHITE MEN GUILT

One can browse the news reports on grooming gangs in the traditional newspapers sites and will find plenty of references to white men gangs predominating in this particular crime of sex grooming. The actual report on grooming states this, followed by a confusing bable justifying it. The problem here is multiple fold.

The groups are two or more men, inland and abroad committing Child Sexual Exploitation. The paper listed below as (4) does acknowledge there is over representation of the asians in CSE, but claims it is due to small sample size. There is no further details of what constitutes Asian, but it is a hodgepodge of all non western Caucasians blokes. There is no reference to Muslin or Islam. The only moment this is referenced to is as Islamofobia.

Criminals are white Caucasian men too. Speaking of CSE, the Church have a long story of covering up the behavior of their own. Both Catholic Church and Protestant churches have been victims of criminals using their positions inside the institutions to prey on the vulnerable. The Churches and the children were victims of individuals using their positions as priests to sexually abuse the children and smear the institutions. There were – are – corrupt men in position of power to protect the criminals by omission and by commission. Sometimes these corrupt men inside the Church are perpetrators of crimes themselves.

There has been more than 50 years since the silence pact has been broken and these crimes have been brought to light (5),(6). The Catholic Church – my own religion – has taken a well deserved beat and has grudgingly and slowly collaborated with the police and very slowly, depending on the Pope, have reduced the protection of these frocked criminals and even ever so slowly recognized errors. The congregations of Christians universally abhorred the conduct of these frocked criminals. There was an interruption of donations to the Church because the bosses were dragging their feet.

Some particular aspects of this Catholic criminals is their sexual orientation. I shall not elaborate further in this post, but the sexual orientation is an important aspect that will be subject of another post.

If one can declare White Man Guilt, the immediate response is either non white men guilt or non white men innocence and white man innocence. Whatever. If a group of men can be defined by the amount of melanin in their skin, why not others? If Catholic priests can be cited as Catholic child abusers priests why not the other religions?

The fear of unrest on the streets is no justification. We are sure that the majority of the Catholics in the UK abhor the sexual abuses committed by the Catholic priests and put blame on the abuses on the individuals and not on the Church or the Pope or the congregation. We – myself included – keep the faith and pray for the victims and hope for justice of men and the justice of God to catch the perpetrators and serve them. Most of the Catholics in the world did not blame the victims, but blamed the perpetrators. The Christian congregation did not rioted against the world. The Christian congregation put pressure on the Church to expel the perpetrators and allow for the secular justice get them.

To be afraid of rioting if the police does their jobs is the evidence that the problem is actually a bigger problem. That there are people who believe their ways are not criminal and that white society is after them for the difference. This highlight the real problem.

As an example, at the court in the Manchester Rochdale judgement, there was this declaration: “His defence barrister, Simon Nichol, said his client “has objected from the start for being tried by an all white jury and subsequent events have confirmed his fears”. “He believes his convictions have nothing to do with justice but result from the faith and the race of the defendants. “He further believes that society failed the girls in this case before the girls even met them and now that failure is being blamed on a weak minority group.””

The barrister is not saying his client has not abused the girls. He is saying that his client has been condemned due to his non-white status, as the crime was not sufficient to send the offender to jail per se.

So this “minority group” has or has not engaged into CSE? They did, according to the defense barrister himself and this is a failure of the [white] society that these defendants have exploited. So, for this barrister his client is not guilt, but society is to be blamed.

Alas, the leader of the gang and client of the barrister was convicted of other two rapes and sexual assault.

THE CURRENT NEWS CYCLE

The current grooming crisis is renewing the interest of the public on the CSE and there are some dangerous misconceptions on this interest.

There must be no a priori knowledge of what is the ethnicity of the groomers and this ethnicity is not important. There are criminals that can be adjucated to some ethnical groups, but they are first criminals and sex offenders first and only later they can be sorted by ethnicity. There are Caucasians, non Caucasians, Far-Asians, Middle-Easterns, Sub-Continental and so on and so forth.

The crisis took an interest on the ethnicity of the criminals when whistle blowers from the Home Office declared that there were orders – official orders – not to record the ethnicity of the criminals nor the religious devotions of the criminals. This renders all non blacks more likely to be bunched as whites.

The report from the Home Office in 2020 (2) claims that white males commit most of the crimes, but do not dwell on further details. I wonder how they know the white males while not recording the ethnicity or religious affiliation of the criminals.

The main problem here is to know if the police was required to drop investigations because the ethnicity and religious devotion of the criminals could trigger protests and street violence.

It is time to tell the truth. Not to persecute, but to prosecute the criminals.
